Welcome to the 3rd International Conference on Tourmaline
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we invite you to the 3rd International Conference on Tourmaline (TUR2021) on Elba Island, Italy, September 9-11, 2021. TUR2021 is the third edition of the Tourmaline conference series organized since 1997. Previous editions of 1997 and 2017 were both held in Nové Mĕsto na Moravĕ, Brno, Czech Republic. The conference will hopefully reflect the philosophy of previous conferences and provide a common forum to present new ideas, concepts and results related to the borosilicate mineral tourmaline. It will also offer an opportunity for students and young scientists to meet and interact with established, well-known scientists.

Please note that, due to COVID-19 issues, the Conference is limited to 100 participants in presence
(on a first-come-first-serve basis)
The number of online participants has no limits
Please also consider that September is still high season in Italy and Elba Island, in addition to its renowned beaches and natural beauties, offers maximum health safety on both ferries and hotels, therefore in early September a very high number of tourists coming from all over the world is expected. Finding accommodation in Portoferraio, either close to the TUR2021 conference venue or nearby, may be very difficult if reservation is not made well in advance (preferably in April-May).
